Description: This table summarizes all available trapping data since 1950, provided by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (formerly Fish and Game) since 1950, sorted by County. Trapping densities are the total beaver trapped divided by County area.State of California county boundaries. Feature types include polygons, label points, and lines. The source of the county boundaries was 1:100,000-scale USGS maps. The dataset was modified by the California Department of Fish and Game GIS Service Center to include polygon coding (coverage-format PAT) for features associated with counties, such as offshore islands and portions of open waters. Selected feature names and codes were taken from the USGS Geographic Names Information System. Additional attributes include boundary line codes (coverage-format AAT), county names in various formats, county numbers and abbreviations.
