Description

Two projects were funded through the ACWA program administered by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation. The City and Borough of Sitka continued to improve the water quality of Granite Creek by planting vegetation for additional riparian buffer protection and the Juneau Watershed Partnership constructed two stormwater treatment systems.

Project Benefit

Salmon production is dependent on healthy habitat and sufficient water of high quality. This project will benefit salmon resources and users by protecting or improving salmon habitat and water quality in water bodies that are deemed high priority.
