Description

Phase Vs restoration effort will address approximately 3,700 feet (2,500 feet of primary channel development and 1,200 feet of side channel modifications) of Mill Creek and wlil be based on the same hydrological and geo-fluvial principles used in Phases I thru IV. Approximately 8,000 trees will be planted within Mill Creeks re-developed riparian corridor. Multiple tree species will be planted within and beyond the stream channel itself to provide a variety of vegetation types to provide diversity and greater stability to Mill Creek floodplain as a whole. A watering crew will be utilized to water the plants during their first few years or so, until they are able to establish themselves independently.

Project Benefit

To improve the hydraulic function and ecological benefits associated with improving this reach (~3700 feet) of Class I salmonid bearing stream system through the development of a single primary stream course and the subsequent development of various pools, riffles, and stabilized stream banks and riparian corridor features.
