Description

The specific objective of this Project is to develop 100% final designs for a large wood project along 3.1 miles of the South Fork Eel River. The LW structures will be designed to deepen pools, increase shelter and shelter complexity, capture spawning gravels, increase off-channel habitat, and to provide velocity refugia to Coho and Chinook Salmon and steelhead trout. The project will result in a Basis of Designs Report and 100% Design Plans that will be used to build a fish habitat restoration project that meets recovery plan target values for pieces of LW.

Project Benefit

The goal of this project is to develop 100% design plans that will guide the

construction of LW structures that will improve salmonid habitat in upper South

Fork Eel River. The LW project will be designed to increase salmonid survival by

increasing available habitat for spawning and rearing.
