Description

The grantee, Trout Unlimited, had California Conservation Corps install a total of 43 instream features within 0.9mi of river - 0.3mi on the mainstem Albion River and 0.6mi on its tributary, Tom Bell Creek. On the Albion River, 15 large wood features were installed (consisting of 53 pieces of large wood), and on the Tom Bell Creek, 28 large wood features were installed (consisting of 76 pieces of large wood). Available native slash and small woody debris were installed into structures to provide immediate cover for salmonids and encourage floating debris accumulation/aggradation where beneficial.

All FY18 PCSRF funds were spent within the award period.

Project Benefit

This project will increase stream habitat complexity, pool frequency, pool depth, high-flow refugia, and over-summer rearing habitat for Coho Salmon, Steelhead Trout, and Chinook Salmon.
