Description

The Project developed 100% designs for engineered large wood structures in Albion River and NF Albion River. Once implemented, the engineered large wood structures will promote deposition of coarse sediment to create an alluvial channel bed in 3,900? of the Albion River and 4,700? of the North Fork Albion River.

Project Benefit

The project goal is to develop a plan to asses instream wood needs and potential stream locations that will restore bedrock reaches of the Albion River to alluvial bed reaches that provide salmonids spawning habitat, velocity refugia for rearing, restore hyporheic flows, and slow the recession of base-flows. The final project designs should outline a reach specific large wood strategy to ensure long term natural recruitment of wood via large tree retention.
