Invasive Northern Pike Prevention, Containment, and Eradication in Northern Cook Inlet

To protect salmon in the Miller Creek drainage and prevent spread of invasive northern pike from Miller Creek to the rest of the Kenai Peninsula, this project will operate a weir within Miller Creek to prevent reinvasion while manually passing salmon to ensure continued fish passage. Pike will be eradicated from three road-accessible lakes in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley (Mat-Su) to prevent their use for introductions of Northern Pike into other water bodies.

This project will protect salmon populations by preventing the reintroduction of invasive Northern Pike into the Kenai Peninsula via the Miller Creek drainage and by eradicating Northern Pike from three accessible sources that could be used to introduce Northern Pike to other water bodies.
