Description    


The Regional Program Representative (RPR) for OWEB Region 1 led field activities for the agency’s North Coast region. The RPR for this region position is integral to implementing priority projects for coastal salmonids and is a liaison between OWEB and ODFW’s Coastal Recovery Plan Coordinator.The RPR position provided day-to-day administration of grant agreements and program representation with all watershed councils and other local conservation partners in the region. The position was responsible for promoting cooperation, participation and funding from public agencies (federal, state and local), citizens and interest groups to assess watershed conditions, develop priority actions and implement projects to enhance watershed conditions throughout the basin. The RPR position was responsible for overseeing the administration of awarded grants, and for the review of grant applications received from the region, as well as coordinating agency efforts with local conservation interests throughout the basin. This position also coordinated technical assistance with local partners including watershed councils, soil and water conservation districts, other stakeholders and landowners.

          These Plans all note that salmon recovery can only be achieved through coordinated efforts to build strong conservation partnerships. They also note that coordination of these conservation partnerships is crucial in developing and facilitating implementing strategies for Recovery Plan implementation.
