Asotin Creek PA 3.2 Design

The Asotin County Conservation District is sponsoring the Asotin Creek Project Area (PA) 3.2 Design project to develop a final design report, ready to construct engineering plans, and complete environmental compliance including permit and cultural resource requirements.This project targets a 1.2 mile segment of PA 3. The conceptual plan for PA 3.2 includes controlling invasive vegetation encroachment and add large woody debris to increase complexity. The project is located south of the City of Asotin, WA along Asotin Creek Road. Asotin Creek flows directly into the Snake River. The project begins at river mile (RM) 4.0 and ends are RM 5.2. The priority species that will benefit from the project, once implemented, is steelhead but will also support fall chinook, spring chinook and bull trout.

The goal of this project is to provide instream habitat complexity through the placement of large wood structures, to enhance habitat for Snake River steelhead for all life stages, control invasive vegetation encroachment, and promote riparian function.
