Description
Grantee and subs installed 40 large wood features within 5,600 feet (1.06 miles) of Butler Creek, consisting of 141 pieces of large wood, 46 of which were key pieces. The CCC assisted ERWIG staff with the riparian planting of 150 redwood seedlings and 50 native plants.
Project Benefit
The addition of these large wood structures will enhance spawning and rearing habitats by providing cover, increasing pool depth, frequency and complexity, sorting and collecting spawning gravels, and by providing velocity refuge during peak winter flows for juvenile salmonids and migrating adult salmonids.
