Description    


The lead entity coordinated the citizen and technical advisory team meetings. This included submitting a ranked project list to RCO. The LE also scheduled sit vistis, performed community outreach, compiled project ranks and scheduled applicant workshops

The Hood Canal Coordinating Council uses this funding to further its salmon recovery program and bring prioritized habitat project lists to the Salmon Recovery Funding Board through its lead entity program. HCCC is a watershed based council of governments composed of elected officials from local governments in the watershed as well as state and federal agencies with ownership, jurisdiction or an interest in the watershed.

Worksite #1, #2, and #3 (worksites designate funding source only): The Lead Entity coordinated the Citizen Advisory Committee and technical team. .

Worksite #4: Implemented of summer chum and chinook recovery plans

Worksite #5: Identifed threats, coordinate meetings, and revise recovery strategies for summer chum.

Project Benefit    


HCCC facilitates implementation of three salmonid recovery plans, including summer chum salmon, Skokomish River and Mid-Hood Canal Chapters of the Puget Sound Chinook Salmon Recovery Plan, and the Hood Canal Chapter of the Puget Sound Steelhead Recovery Plan. They faciliate recovery in the region by providing guidance and support for development of a habitat project list for submittal to the Salmon Recovery Funding Board (SRFB) via the HCCC Lead Entity process; providing a forum and support the strategic priorities for all HCCC work programs including but not limited to: Lead Entity program, In Lieu Fee Mitigation Program; Hood Canal Regional Pollution, Identification and Correction Program, Hood Canal Integrated Watershed Plan (IWP), Shellfish Initiative, and activities as the Local Integrating Organization (LIO).
