Description

This project supported the sampling of juvenile and adult salmonids to support the implementation of the Nisqually Stock Management Plan. It included spawning ground surveys and sampling at the Centralia City Lights fish ladder and the hatchery. It also supported juvenile sampling in the Nisqually River, estuary, and nearshore areas.

Project Benefit

The project results in the implementation of actions that will lead to ESA delisting of the Chinook population through the development of a self-sustaining natural population, and to provide meaningful harvest opportunities for the Nisqually tribal community.
