Description

Field survey were performed, as necessary, at the location of each proposed FRGP projects and other sites as requested. The paleontological resource evaluations were provided to CDFW with the data necessary to properly plan, in compliance with state and federal regulations, for the preservation and protection of nonrenewable paleontological resources at each of the project locations. For botanical resources, a habitat assessment for potential presence of sensitive plant species were conducted to determine whether the proposed project would have significant negative impacts on any sensitive plants or habitats in the project area.

Project Benefit

Comply with state/federal rgulations for the preservation and protection of resources at each project location.

Description and scope of the plan implemented
Conducted habitat surveys to assess habitat conditions, locate habitat disturbances and potential fish migration barriers. Implement the recommendations from the habitat surveys. Describe How Project Accomplishes List Task: All projects funded through the Fisheries Restoration Grants Program must comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and grantees must obtain Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements before implementation. DFW completed CEQA documentation for private landowners, watershed groups, non-profit organizations and some state and county departments. As an element of CEQA compliance, DFW has granted out cultural resource, paleontological and rare plant surveys of all major impact projects.
