Description

Staff conducted spawning surveys and estimated adult steelhead returns using a DIDSON sonar camera in the Big Sur River watershed. CDFW staff also gathered end of anadromy data to develop the sample frame reaches for the Big Sur watershed and the Big Sur Coast BPG.

Project Benefit

It is important to study the long-term status and trends of steelhead within the South-Central California Coast DPS to understand their population status, habitat use, and to assess the effectiveness of conservation and management strategies.
