Description

Grantee installed 26 instream features consisting of 76 pieces of large wood within a total of 3168 feet (0.60 miles) of NF Noyo and Dewarren Creek combined. Three features consisting of 10 pieces of large wood were installed in 475 within NF Noyo River and 23 features consisting of 66 pieces of large wood were installed in 2693 of Dewarren Creek. The Grantee was funded for a planned four-year implementation project. In 2019, mitigation measures delayed Grantee field crews from starting other FRGP instream projects. Those Grantee field crews were redirected to this project and with the extra help, the project was completed ahead of schedule. PCSRF FY2014 funds were spent within the allowable award period even though the project ended outside the award period.

Project Benefit

LWD will improve the quality and quantity of spawning and rearing habitat for Coho and Steelhead by improving gravel sorting and providing refugia.
