Description

The project removed the existing culvert, contoured the stream banks, installed five rock grade control weirs, built three large wood features, armored the banks, and installed a 90? long bridge according to the design plans. Fill removed from the original crossing was moved offsite and placed upslope and contoured into the existing landscape. All bare soil was seeded with native grass and mulched with rice straw. ERWIG planted trees and native plants in disturbed areas.

Project Benefit

The objective of the Project is to replace a failing, partial barrier, culvert with a free-span bridge that will provide salmonids with uninhibited access to 0.52 miles of year-round habitat. The bridge will allow full passage to

juvenile and adult salmonids and will convey 100-year flows. In addition, eight grade control weirs and five large wood (LW) structures will be built to maintain grade and habitat complexity. Rock armoring of the banks upstream, underneath,

and downstream of the bridge will be constructed to protect banks from erosion. Forty native plants and trees will be planted to replace those disturbed during

implementation.
