Description    


The Suquamish Tribe will work with the Great Peninsula Conservancy on fee simple acquisition of a key parcel at risk of development in the lower Grovers Creek watershed (estuary) that contains important, high functioning habitat for PS Steelhead, PS Chinook, chum, and coho salmon. Great Peninsula Conservancy is implementing a companion Puget Sound Acquisition and Restoration project (state RCO funded) referred to as Lower Grovers Creek Habitat Protection 2020. This project will permanently protect 1.55 acres of stream, estuarine, and upland habitat near the mouth of Grovers Creek in the Miller Bay Watershed.

Project Benefit    


This project permanently protects a 1.55 acre parcel containing stream, estuarine, and upland habitat supporting juvenile rearing for PS Steelhead (EK DIP), PS Chinook (multiple independent populations) PS Chum, and PS Coho.
