Description

This project worked with the Great Peninsula Conservancy on fee-simple acquisition in the Grovers Creek watershed at high risk of conversion and development. Activities completed from 7/1/22 through 12/31/22: • The Acquisition of the “Tucker” property was completed in December 2022; a conservation agreement between GPC and the Suquamish Tribe was executed on November 28, 2022. This project will permanently protect 1.55 acres of stream, estuarine, and upland habitat near the mouth of Grovers Creek in the Miller Bay Watershed.

Project Benefit

This project permanently protects a 1.55 acre parcel containing stream, estuarine, and upland habitat supporting juvenile rearing for PS Steelhead (EK DIP), PS Chinook (multiple independent populations) PS Chum, and PS Coho.
