Description

Crane Creek and Threemile Creek which flow into the northern end of Agency Lake. These tributaries are habitat to threatened bull trout and historically anadromous salmonids. The project includes restoring flow to the historical Crane Creek alignment and reestablishing a more natural hydrologic connection between Threemile Creek and Crane Creek. Permit-ready (60%) channel restoration designs were completed.

Project Benefit

The planning project will benefit restoration of the Westside tributaries hydrologic connections with Upper Klamath Lake, overall habitat conditions, and ecosystem function in preparation for the return of Chinook Salmon to the Upper Basin. Until reintroduction occurs the project will benefit Redband Trout and other native species that will begin the process of reworking and stabilizing habitat.
