Description

On 8/10/15 a request was made to NOAA to revise this project from its original scope. The original scope was to implement instream restoration in two miles of Elk Creek. The scope of the project was revised due to the increased cost of a bridge removal and replacement project on Elk Creek. The decision was made to prioritize the bridge project and therefore re-allocate funds. The revised scope of the Elk Creek Cooperative Salmon Habitat Project Phase III-Implementation focused on removal of invasive species (Rubus armeniacus) and planting of native species (Philidelphis lewisii, Cornus sericea, Symphoricarpos albus, Physocarpus capitatus, Acer circinatum, fescue) on 0.02 acres of riparian habitat along Elk Creek.

Project Benefit

This project befits coho salmon, through removal of invasive species and planting of native stream side vegetation to restore riparian function to the stream ecosystem.
