Description

The goal of this project was to improve resource management in the Klamath Basin and the Shasta and Scott Rivers by developing and making available reliable expert scientific information, and by reviewing information under development by other entities including the Sate of California. An important aspect of this project was to provide language and educational outreach efforts to Yurok Tribal members regarding this particular initiative. These funds were used to participate in flow management discussions with the local community and restoration identification studies in the Klamath Basin as well as the Scott and Shasta Rivers. This included participation in management activities as well as the acquisition of technical expertise for review and implementation of water management studies. The majority of this work took place in 2016, however a small amount was completed in 2017.

Project Benefit

This project will enable the Yurok Tribe to participate in the development of scientific information that will be used to affect water management on two important tributaries to the Klamath River; the Shasta and Scott Rivers.

Outcomes & Benefits
Provide information related to water management in the Shasta and Scott; improvement of water management in those tributaries.
