Description
This project protected land important for the spawning, rearing, and migration of Pacific salmon through acquisition and conservation easements on three parcels of priority land encompassing 3,012 acres and 12.6 stream miles. Debris was removed from the riparian area in one of the three parcels (Shelter Cove).
This project utilized funds from PCSRF grant NA15NMF4380231; no funds from this grant were used past its end date.
Project Benefit
This project will permanently conserve important spawning, rearing, and migration habitat for Chinook, coho, sockeye, chum, and/or pink salmon and steelhead populations in Southcentral Alaska through conservation easements and/or fee simple acquisition. In addition, GLT will remove invasive species and restore any degraded habitat on conservation project lands. Accomplishments
