Implementation of Channel Rehabilitation on Mill or Supply Creek

This project involved the design and assistance for the partial implementation of one tributary enhancement project on Supply Creek Phase 1. A variety of technical information (spatial, hydrological, habitat, etc) was assembled to assess and prioritize fish habitat needs. Potential infrastructure constraints (roads, utilities, etc.) were identified, and input from project stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and other interested parties was gathered. This project includes channel restoration, off-channel habitat development, increased channel structure complexity, and riparian planting. This funding was used as matching funds from NFWF for project designs and NRCS and CDFW funding for the majority of implementation.

The goal of the project is to implement a restoration project to improve anadromous fish habitat on a stream loated on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation and implement priority actions outlined in the 2012 Draft Southern Oregon Northern California Coho Salmon Recovery Plan. Project Objective are to implement a construction project to enhance fish habitat at Mill (18 acres restored) or Supply (24 acres restored) Creeks leveraging additional resources as needed.
