Description

Over 400 individuals attended five training events and received a total of 500 technical reference materials and group instruction.

Project Benefit

The proposed project will inform private landowners on practical means of improving land and water management practices that, if implemented, will contribute to protection and restoration of salmon and anadromous trout stream habitat. Workshops will expand upon water conservation strategies used in the Save our Salmon (SOS) Program and simple erosion control practices described in Groundwork: A Handbook for Small-Scale Erosion Control in Coastal California 2nd Edition. The proposed series of workshops will also be geared towards individual and community-oriented water conservation strategies, low-tech sediment reduction strategies, and their resulting benefits to salmonid habitat and species recovery plans.
