Description

Stabilize section of eroding left bank, 350 ft long and 30 ft high, relocate channel, install flow deflectors, instream structure, boulder toe protection, reconstruction and re-slope bank, riparian revegetaion, and exclusion fencing.

Project Benefit

Improve habitat by controlling stream bank erosion, establishing native riparian vegetation on the newly created creek bank, and reducing surface run-off and pesticide input into the creek by a buffer zone created along the length of the agricultural field at the top of the creek bank. These measures will ultimately yield long term benefits to steelhead by decreasing sediment input directly into the creek and establishing a vegetative canopy to help reduce stream water temperatures and increase food production at this site.
