Description

Managed the development of presence-absence protocols for juvenile salmonids in a particular stream or stream reach in face of uncertain detection, focusing on juvenile coho salmon in small streams or in stream sections.

Project Benefit

(a) summarizing the review and critique of existing statistical methods for estimating presence/absence, (b) presenting a preliminary sketch of new statistical methods that may be more appropriate, and (c) presenting a tentative improved field protocol for coho presence/absence surveys that could be executed by CDFG during summer/fall of 2003.
