Description

Water quality was decreased by mining activities and fire. Improvements have been made in water quality allowing the creek to be ready for anadromous fish introduction. Tribal staff completed snorkeling surveys for steelhead, chinook, and native fry throughout all tributaries. Plan developed titled Planning for Chinook, Steelhead, and Bull Trout Reintroductions: Panther Creek Subbasin for the Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Program documenting goals, biological objections, actions, and activities to re-introduce and recover anadromous fish production and modify habitat characteristics to benefit production in Panther Creek.

Project Benefit

This study will benefit salmonids by reintroduction through hatchery supplementation to recover anadromous fish production in this significant watershed.
