Description

This project funded the production of Chinook and coho at the Crystal Lake Hatchery.

This project is continued to project 45104.

Project Benefit

Increases harvest in Southeast Alaska by increasing hatchery production (hatchery fish do not count toward Alaska Pacific Salmon Treaty quota).

This project is in compliance with the Sustainable Salmon Fisheries Policy. The release sites are in areas with no nearby wild runs, local stocks are used as the brood sources, and tagging rates are high enough to document if straying occurs (straying has not occurred in the past to any significant extent.
