Description

Progress on this project was slowed by the departure of the Conservation Scientist within the Fishery Science Department at CRITFC. Dr. Peter F. Galbreath began work in February 2004 and following his arrival spent considerable time acquiring background information on relevant issues regarding escapement, hatchery supplementation, and monitoring strategies.

Project Benefit

Development of research grant proposals to quantify aspects of hatchery supplementation programs, continued support to tribal Fishery Departments for the development of subbasin plans and hatchery management plans, and continued interaction with regional co-managers in the development of policies regarding Columbia River salmonid hatchery programs and restoration efforts.
