Description

This project has resulted in a cohesive set of statistical tools that will aid managers in determining the need for supplementation programs, sizing the program, deciding between alternative propagation strategies, and monitoring the trajectory of the targeted population. While we have largely achieved the objectives of the project, we are continuing to updated the analyses, and optimize the simulation program. At the very least, these analyses can be applied to existing programs to provide a common metric to weigh the success or failure of supplementation programs. More importantly, the project has supplied a rapid assessment and implementation tool that will be useful in establishing whether or not additional programs are required.

Project Benefit

Development of optimal strategies for restoring and conserving salmon populations in several subbasins.
