Description

Specific Canadian mine proposals and preliminary information reviewed during this timeframe include Red Chris, Tulsequah Chief, Eskay Creek and Kerr-Sulphurets-Mitchell (KSM) and Granduc. Discussions with B.C. environmental and fisheries officials have resulted in increased effort to exchange water quality data and information.

Project Benefit

Through Alaskan involvement with project review and monitoring during the Canadian mine permitting process, this project will encourage inclusion of measures into project designs and permits that are appropriately protective of Alaskas interests. This involvement will help protect Alaskas water quality and quantity in salmon habitat.
