Monitoring of Continuous Water Quality Data Stations

TEPA conducted annual maintenance on three (3) of its Stream monitoring stations. The annual maintenance consisted of replacement of main batteries, cleaning and resetting all sensors, plus calibrating sensors and data loggers to insure collection of accurate stream water quality data.

TEPA has been collecting water quality information since FY2000 under Salmon Recovery and has successfully installed 5 CDR monitoring sites under this program. The purpose of this component is to continue in the baseline collection of water quality data for all the existing sites. CDR data has been used in addressing impacts to water quality and fisheries from land management activities such as logging and road construction. TEPA has been operating up to 12 CDRs throughout the reservation for the past 9 years. All data collected is compiled into a Hydrologic Monitoring Database which can be utilized to conduct trend analyses and correlations between collected water quality data from all 3 Natural Resource Programs.
