Description

This engagement project is Phase III of our effort to establish the Coos Basin Coho Partnership (CBP) and expand our restoration network in Coos County, Oregon. The CBP aims to recover local populations of threatened Oregon Coast Coho salmon by accelerating high-priority restoration projects in the Coos watershed. In Phases I and II, we developed a brand and identity for the CBP through a communications plan, website, social media presence, and a first wave of public events. In Phase III, we will continue with our current structure: three main public events per year, additional custom photos and videos for the website, and continued website maintenance, marketing, and communication to connect the Partnership to our priority audiences. All events and communications will feature current/recent CBP restoration projects with the intention of drawing in new partners for future projects.

Project Benefit

Our goal for the next phase of Coos Basin Coho Partnership engagement is to recruit local land owners/managers for future projects in the 13 high priority sub-basins identified in the SAP. Two key audiences we aim to engage include lowland landowners and timber companies that own/manage a large number of upland acres in our watershed. In particular, the CBP website, social media, and annual events will give us tangible ways to communicate with and recruit more landowners into future restoration projects that boost salmon populations in the Coos watershed.
