Description

This project 1) placed 86 pieces of large wood within a one mile stream reach; 2) removed an obsolete concrete water gauging structure that prevented juvenile fish migration at summer flows in low water years; and 3) constructed a small graded riffle to improve access for migratory adult fish over the fish ladder located at the Clear Creek intake structure.

Project Benefit

The project addresses the limiting factors to the recovery of ESA listed fish populations. These limiting factors include a lack of channel complexity and blocked passage to rearing habitat. The project provides for fish passage so that fish that migrate as part of their life cycle can access spawning and rearing habitat. The project increases instream complexity by placing large woody debris instream.
