Description

From mid-June through October 2020, we completed 260 standard IMW habitat surveys across the ten IMW watersheds. In the Hood Canal Complex we completed 26 in Little Anderson Creek, 32 in Big Beef Creek, 31 is Seabeck Creek, and 27 in Stavis Creek. In the Lower Columbia Complex we completed 26 in Germany Creek, 29 in Abernathy Creek, and 24 in Mill Creek. In the Strait of Juna de Fuca Complex we completed 20 in East Twin River, 24 in West Twin River, and 21 in Deep Creek. From November 2020 through February 2021 standard IMW habitat survey data were checked and entered into the IMW habitat corporate database. From July through April 2020, project monitoring was completed in all treatment watersheds. Preliminary analyses of these data are ongoing with assistance of Dr. Eric Ward, NOAA Fisheries.

Project Benefit

Collection, storage, and analysis of habitat data used to assess the efficacy of stream restoration. Project implications have national implications for stream restoration, but are especially pertinent to salmon recovery in the PNW.
