Description

The Asotin County Conservation District sponsored the Asotin Creek PA 06 Design project to develop a full final design report, ready to construct engineering plans and complete environmental compliance. The Asotin Creek PA 06 Design project is located southwest of the City of Asotin, WA along Asotin Creek Road. The project begins at river mile (RM) 7.0 and ends at approximately RM 7.4. PA 06 was identified as a Tier 1 project in the Asotin County Conceptual Restoration Plan. The designs include promoting overbank flow, increasing flow to the existing side channel and adding large woody debris to the side channel and mainstem Asotin Creek to increase habitat complexity to enhance juvenile Snake River steelhead and Snake River spring/fall Chinook rearing habitat.

Project Benefit

The goal of this project is to improve rearing habitat for Snake River spring/fall Chinook and steelhead. This project will help accompish this goal by completing final desisgns to increase habitat diversity and potentially reconnect side channels on Asotin Creek.
