Yakima Basin FWRB

The YBFWRB has used these funds to coordinate implementation of the recovery plan and for completing specific recovery plan elements, i.e. the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (RME) Plan and the Bull Trout Action Plan.

The Yakima Basin Fish & Wildlife Recovery Board (YBFWB) serves as the regional salmon recovery organization and Lead Entity for the Yakima River Basin in the Middle Columbia River Salmon Recovery Region. It is composed of representatives of county, city and tribal governments in the basin that have signed the Inter-Local Agreement forming the YBFWRB. It works closely with stakeholder groups and federal and state agencies to promote salmon recovery in the Yakima Basin. The YBFWRB’s recovery plan for Middle Columbia Steelhead in the Yakima Basin is incorporated into NOAA’s ESA-mandated Mid-Columbia Steelhead DPS Recovery Plan (final due for adoption in late 2009).
