Description

The Review Panel is a team of scientists with varying fields of expertise, employed by the Salmon Recovery Funding Board to evaluate project effectiveness, in terms of benefit to fish and their habitat, and advise the Board on selecting projects to be funded. Specialties include environmental engineering, fish biology, hydrology, ecology, and geomorphology. The panel is assigned to review projects related to their field of study, usually in a pair of one engineer and one biologist. Panel members provide feedback to project sponsors during the review of proposed projects. After projects are funded, the Review Panel will often give comments for project amendments.

Project Benefit

The Salmon Recovery Funding Board Review Panel evaluates all the projects submitted for funding. This evaluation includes benefit to salmon, scope of habitat improvements, cost -effectiveness, etc.
