Description    


In partnership with Placement Sites,

Corpsmembers provided:

-Protected, restored/proposed 81 acres for restoration

-Protected and/or restored 23 different watersheds in coastal CA

-Assessed 7058 miles of stream

-Improved 31 acres of waterways due to WSP volunteer events (WAVEs)

-Proposed and completed 41 restoration or protection projects (WAVEs)

-Aside from WAVEs, WSP Corpsmembers conducted various types of restoration project treatments, including fish screening, fish passage removal, instream flow enhancement, instream habitat, riparian habitat, upland habitat, water quality, wetland, and estuaries/nearshore.

-WSP Corpsmembers restored/protected/proposed 396 miles of instream.

Project Benefit    


Besides the already listed deliverables and objectives of conducting vital watershed recovery, recruiting local volunteers to assist with salmonid habitat restoration, and educating students and the public about coastal watersheds throughout California, WSP is providing the opportunity for fisheries professionals to pass on their expertise to the next generation of natural resource professionals and gain the opportunity to increase their organization?s capacity to improve salmonid habit.
