Cider Mill Creek (Lindsay Creek tributary) Coho Barrier Removal and Habitat Enhancement Design Project

The proposed project will develop 100% engineering designs to remediate two road crossing barriers (Map 3; Sites 640 and 802) to salmonid passage, including coho salmon. This will allow unimpeded, year-around access to approximately 0.8 miles of anadromous habitat for juvenile and adult salmonids. The proposed project will also develop designs for restoration of the dysfunctional stream channel habitat from Site 640 downstream to the confluence with Lindsay Creek, including the abandoned road crossing (Site #799).

Expected benefits include design plans for restoring unimpeded access to anadromous rearing for juvenile coho and potential spawning habitat for adult coho salmon in Cider Mill Creek. About 0.8 miles of salmonid habitat is currently limited by 2 culverted road-crossing temporal barriers. Design plans for channel function restoration of 0.3 miles of class 1 stream channel will improve channel connectivity, improve rearing habitat and provide access for adult Coho to potential spawning grounds.
