Description
In partnership with Placement Sites, WSP engaged 42 Corpsmembers in workshops and trainings; trained Corpsmembers through 141 site-specific workshops/training events; and increased 88% of WSP Corpsmembers knowledge and skills by at least 25%. The Corpsmembers protected, restored/proposed 27 acres for restoration; protected and/or restored 23 different watersheds in coastal CA; assessed 917 miles of stream; improved 706 miles of waterways due to WSP volunteer events (WAVEs); proposed and completed 36 restoration or protection projects (WAVEs); conducted various types of restoration project treatments, including fish screening, fish passage, instream flow, instream habitat, riparian habitat, upland habitat, water quality, wetland, and estuaries/nearshore; and restored/protected/proposed 145 miles of instream habitat.
Project Benefit
The specific objective of this Project is to engage 44 Members throughout coastal California to enhance anadromous watersheds through restoration and protection, community education and outreach events, recruiting volunteers for hands-on restoration projects, and professional development.
