Continue Water Quality Monitoring and Data Analysis in the Upper Klamath Basin

During the funding period (July 2013 – September 2015), the Klamath Tribes continued the
long-term Upper Klamath Basin water quality monitoring program, collecting samples from 25
sites (Figure 1). Overall, water quality technicians completed 1151 sampling events (Appendix
A: Tables 1-3) in the Sprague, Williamson, and Wood River basins and in Upper Klamath and
Agency Lakes.

Funding of this project will continue to provide several benefits to salmonid recovery and reintroduction efforts in the entire Klamath River watershed. First, this data set provides valuable baseline data for downstream recovery efforts. Second, program efforts are a tool to focus and direct upper basin restoration efforts and to guide reintroduction efforts. Finally, additional data set refining will encourage more widespread use of this data set by all restoration practitioners.
