This GIS feature class represents the nautical area scattering coefficient (NASC) of adult Pacific hake (age 2+) from the 38 kHz frequency, measured along the 2012-2015 Summer Pacific hake survey transects in 0.5 nmi Vessel Log (VL) sections along each transect. The vessels that completed these surveys were the Bell M. Shimada (NOAA) and the W.E. Ricker (Canadian Coast Guard vessel). Transects were spaced 10 nmi in the N-S direction. The NASC was developed with EchoPro software (Echoview Software Pty Ltd) and represents the final un-kriged NASC that was used to generate the kriged biomass estimate for Pacific hake.

The nautical area scattering coefficient (NASC) of adult Pacific hake (age 2+) from the 38 kHz frequency, measured during the 2012-2015 Summer Pacific hake...
FRAM Acoustic Surveys for Hake for the U.S. West Coast
acoustics", "backscatter", "nautical area scattering coefficient", "Pacific hake", "Northeast Pacific Ocean", "California Current", "British Columbia", "Washington", "Oregon", "California", "Pacific hake"
Map Service
Data", "Service", "Map Service", "ArcGIS Server"
[ [ -134.389945565615, 34.8380771022507 ], [ -120.708545024282, 54.9367552092825 ]
E308
WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere
NOAA Fisheries, Northwest Fisheries Science Center, Fishery Resource Analysis and Monitoring Division; Fisheries and Oceans, Canada
