description:

This GIS feature class represents the NASC of adult Pacific hake (age 2+) from the 38 kHz frequency, measured along the 2015 Summer Pacific hake survey transects in 0.5 nmi Vessel Log (VL) sections along each transect. The vessels that completed the survey were the Bell M. Shimada (NOAA) and the W.E. Ricker (Canadian Coast Guard vessel) from the Southern California Bight, US to just north of Haida Gwaii in Canadian waters. Transects were spaced 20 nmi in the N-S direction, with some closer spaced (10-15 nmi) transects in select areas such as off the Columbia River and the west coast of Vancouver Island. The NASC was from an EchoPro output generated on February 9th, 2016. This was the final un-kriged NASC that was used to generate the kriged biomass estimate for Pacific hake.
