AbstractIn 2024 the Lower Granite Dam adult trap began operations as scheduled on Monday, 4 March. We operated the trap 5 d/week from 4 March to 17 August. Sampling started at a respective daily and overall trapping rate of 25 and 18%. Sampling was increased to a respective daily and overall trapping rate of 28 and 20% from 15 April to 17 August. The trap operated from 18 August to 26 August at a 70% trapping rate at the planned 24 hour, 7 d/week trapping schedule. Trapping rate was decreased to 40% from 27 August to 6 September, 18% from 7 September to 11 October, and 9% from 12 October to close of trap on 14 November without interruption. A total of 18,882 wild and hatchery steelhead Oncorhynchus mykiss were collected and handled at the adult trap during 2024. We injected 3,249 with passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags.
