Abstract In 2023 the Lower Granite Dam adult trap began operations as scheduled on Wednesday, 1 March. Sampling started at respective daily and overall trapping rates of 25 and 18%. The trap operated from 18 August to 30 August at a 70% trapping rate at the planned 24-hour, 7 d/week trapping schedule. We operated the trap at an 18% trapping rate from 31 August to close of trap on 15 November without interruption. A total of 13,563 wild and hatchery steelhead Oncorhynchus mykiss were collected and handled at the adult trap during 2023. We injected 3,653 with passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags. All tagged hatchery steelhead had adipose fins intact with coded wire tag. We collected and handled a total of 11,300 wild and hatchery origin, spring and summer run Chinook salmon O. tshawytscha at the trap in 2023. We injected 2,477 with PIT tags. All tagged hatchery Chinook had adipose fins intact with coded wire tag. We collected and handled a total of 10,944 fall run Chinook salm
