AbstractGreater adaptive capacity in wild salmon populations could improve their likelihood of surviving climate change. And, rapidly progressing technological advances in genomics could improve conservation decisions. But the relevant evolutionary literature is not readily accessible to many decision makers because it is scattered, complex, and constantly changing. To make this information more accessible, we reviewed the literature published from 2010-2020 that addressed climate impacts on salmon and focus here on 199 papers that specifically considered evolutionary processes. We quantified the study type and duration, species, life stage, and region across the studies. We summarized the main spatial and temporal trends in genetic and phenotypic variation to anticipate future responses to climate change. We conclude with recommendations for the most urgent needs in evolutionary applications: detection of anthropogenic maladaptation to climate change, and a precautionary approach to preservin
