This project removed a 1 meter round PCC culvert that was undersized and had an outfall drop of approximately .8 of a foot. The blockage was replaced it with a 35 long by 15 wide concrete bridge. This correction opened up 2.64 miles of upstream habitat to coho, coastal cutthroat and residentt trout. The project is located on a tributary to Stearns Creek. The tribuatary flows out of forested land and through the project site which is enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program. The project location is just upstream of the confluence with Stearns Creek. The tribuatary flows into Stearns Creek at River Mile 5.5. Stearns Creek flows into the Chehalis River at river mile 78.1. The Lewis County Conservation District sponsored Brian Hill to implement this Family Forest Fish Passage Program project.
