Description

This project will replace an existing culvert, which is a barrier to fish passage, with a bridge that will allow fish to pass. The culvert is located on an unnamed spur road that crosses a tributary of the White Salmon river, in western Klickitat County, in the Trout Lake Valley. The culvert on Stoller Creek is a complete barrier. The landowner recalls fish (species unknown) being trapped at this culvert, however, rainbow trout are present in White Salmon River. Habitat quality upstream ranged from poor to very good. Habitat downstream to White Salmon river is good, and many fish were observed during a habitat survey. There is 2.31miles (3726m) of habitat gain to the first complete barrier upstream.
WRIA: 29
Stream/River System: Stoller Creek, White Salmon
US Barriers: 3 partial up to just below Trout Lake Hwy and 6 total barriers above to near the end of type F.
DS Barriers: Barrier falls on White Salmon River.
