Description

The Coburg Tree Farm project proposes to replace a 33% passable culvert on Kronis Creek with a 122 span x 38 rise x 30 long corrugated steel box culvert, set on concrete strip footings. The larger structure with a roughened channl inside will provide unimpeded fish passage for all life stages and improve woody debris passage. The project will also place channel stabilization structures downstream of the road crossing for grade control. Kronis Creek is a tributary to the Little Mashel River in WRIA 11, Nisqually watershed. The project will open 0.62 miles of stream habitat for resident cutthroat trout. Cutthroat trout were observed in trap pools above and below culvert. A natural barrier downstream on the Little Mashel River precludes anadromous access.
