This project was identified as ITD mitigation for U.S. Highway 95 Slide Repair (MP 210.5). ITD has completed necessary NEPA, however, updated BLM EA will tier to existing ITD EA and Section 7 Consultation (Endangered Species Act). The project includes the recontouring of the Shorts Bar pond, excavation, and placement of soil. Suitable riparian and wetland species will be planted adjacent to the pond. Upland plantings and seedings will also take place around the pond. Approximately 0.6 acre of wetland will be created with project implementation. The project is a cooperative effort with the Idaho Transportation Department.
